Filter and dust classes at a glance
The dust class specifies which dusts an industrial vacuum may safely collect in accordance with DIN EN 60335-2-69.
Suitable for
Maximum dust penetration
Applications
Dust class L (low risk)
Low-risk dusts with occupational exposure limits > 1 mg/m³, such as household dust, gypsum, lime or sand.
Standard cleaning in trades and industry where the hazard potential is low.
Dust class M (medium risk)
Harmful dusts with occupational exposure limits >= 0.1 mg/m³, such as wood dust, metal dust, paint particles or plastic dusts.
Workshops, joinery shops and production halls where fine dust is generated.
Dust class H (high risk)
Carcinogenic, pathogenic and highly hazardous dusts, such as asbestos, mould, lead or quartz dust.
Remediation work, the chemical industry and applications involving particularly hazardous substances.
GasEx, StaubEx and ACD explained
The classification specifies the explosion protection requirements for operating the vacuum.
Protects against explosions when collecting combustible dusts, such as wood dust or flour, directly within a dust explosion hazard zone.
Protects against explosions in areas where combustible gases or vapours may be present in the air.
Collects combustible dusts while the vacuum itself remains safely outside the explosion hazard zone.
